For those Britney fans that hold up her 2008 documentary For The Record as the cinematic triumph of our time, get ready--Britney's got a new documentary in the works capturing the lead up to her Las Vegas residency and the release of her eighth studio album, Britney Jean!
The 90-minute TV special, I Am Britney Jean, will air on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. PT/ET
According to E!, I Am Britney Jean will offer "an intimate look at one of the most overexposed yet under-revealed stars of today as she faces one of her biggest challenges ever while finishing her album, shooting videos, doing press -- and being a mom." The doc picks up as Spears finishes writing and recording her album, and will feature Spears discussing her personal and professional life in what E! touts is "her most candid and revealing interviews ever." I Am Britney Jean airs just five days before Spears' Britney: Piece of Me show kicks off at Planet Hollywood on Dec. 27.
The documentary is being directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (Becoming Chaz, In Vogue: The Editor's Eye); World of Wonder (RuPaul's Drag Race, Million Dollar Listing) is producing.
